With the end of the Course de la Paix, Václav Lončák has left us, too

Litoměřice – Together with the finish of the final stage of the 42nd year of the international cycling race Course de la Paix Juniors more has sailed away than the organizing committee had wished to. The last year of the race was also the last day of life of his former director. At the age of almost seventy-nine years Václav Lončák died. He had been leading the Course de la Paix as a director for altogether ten years.

The yellow Pedersen has closed up the Course de la Paix winning

Terezín – It’s all over now! The 42nd year of the juniors‘ race Course de la Paix knows its winner. The Danish representative Mads Pedersen has proven his role of the estimated leader. Not only he has won the final stage in the yellow jersey, he has also mastered three from four competitions and has gained three jerseys – the yellow one for the overall winner, the white one for the winner of the activity competition and the green one for the best sprinter. There could have been no doubt about his dominance this year.

The French Gesbert has won in Germany, he hasn't gotten Pedersen undressed

Teplice/Zinnwald – Still at the third stage of this year’s Course de la Paix Juniors, the field arrived to the finish duly splitted. The hilly stage in Krusne Hory Mountains checked the physical maturity of the riders. The difficult climbings had been after all mastered by the French juvenile Elie Gesbert who arrived to the finish in Zinnwald, Germany pretty alone and in a masterful way. The Dane Pedersen hasn’t allowed to anybody to get himself undressed.

Pedersen is wearing the yellow jersey after Friday

Trebenice/Roudnice nad Labem - There were two tests standing for the ruck of the Course de la Paix Juniors on the second day. The morning time trial was mastered by the Dane Pedersen who had also gained the yellow jersey. The afternoon stage in Roudnice nad Labem belonged in the general finish to the British cyclists but Pedersen scoring on the third place has come to stay in the leading position wearing the yellow one.

The Dutch Van Der Poel has mastered the opening stage

Litomerice - Mathieu Van Der Poel has opened the 42nd year of the Course de la Paix Juniors winning. The Dutch representative was celebrating on the Peace Sqaure in Litomerice after having closely succeeded in the last spurt of the driven-away six-head-group. The main field has arrived with a loss of four seconds, but with the Czech rider who scored at the seventeenth place.

Twentytwo teams will be standing on start of the 42nd Junior Peace Race

The juniors peloton, consisting of twentytwo teams, will open the the race on the 2nd of May at 2:30 pm at the Litomerices Peace square (Mírové náměstí). The traditional time trial in Třebenice awaits the competitors on Friday before noon. A brand new stage is prepared for the peloton already for the Friday afternoon, it will start in Roudnice nad Labem at 4:00 pm and the cyclists will battle for the stage victory after two greater loops at the finish line in Roudnice nad Labem again.

The winner this year is the Dane Niklas Eg

Terezín – Finished! this year 41st edition of the Junior Peace Race is over and the Danish team fulfilled the expectations of being the favorites. Indeed, in the final summary of the times it is two Danish who are the fastest overall, the yellow jersey now belongs to Niklas Eg forever.

The Danes ruled over the queen stage

Zinnwald/Terezín – The Danish national team showed their power. In the last-but-one stage of the Junior Peace Race they managed to break away from the rest of the peloton and in the finish of the queen stage in the German town of Zinnwald they celebrated a double win and gained the yellow jersey.

The Friday episodes of the Junior Peace Race were lucky for the Schmidts

Roudnice nad Labem - The peloton of the Junior Peace race had to tackle two stages on Friday. And both had in common the name Schmidt, but it was a different rider each time. While before noon in the time trial won the Dane Mads, in the afternoon road race it was Norwegian Petter. However the former, Mads, is enjoying the yellow jersey which he stripped of the winner of the first stage, from the Frenchman Kowalski.
