Gibson from Great Britain beats the world champion in the Time Trial

Třebenice – British Matthew Gibson won the time Trial of the Junior Peace Race. He left behind him even the current wold champion in the discipline Decraene form Belgium, who finished third. On the schedule there is still the road race stage with start and finish in Roudnice nad Labem for the afternoon, in which Gibson will be in yellow.

     The twelve kilometers time trial in Třebenice regularly makes changes in the GC and in who is the leader, this year the situation was the same. The favorite was the rider for Belgium Igor Decraene, who set on in the rainbow jersey for the world champion. But he was toped by two riders and the world champion had to accept the third place. The circuit was completed in the fastest time of 14:37 min. by Matthew Gibson. The second William Barta from USA lost twelve seconds and the third Decraene three more. As for the Czechs, the fastest was Adam Ťoupalík, who finished on the 24th place.
    Since the winner of the first stage, Bergnoni from Italy, came to the finish only in 66th place with a one and a half minute delay he lost the yellow jersey and for the afternoon stage in Roudnice it will be Gibson who will wear it. In the GC Ťoupalík on the 23rd place is the bast Czech rider, less than a minute behind Gibson.
    The afternoon stage of 63 kilometers will start in Roudnice nad Laben on the Karlově square at 4 pm.
