He won the Junior Peace Race, now he is the World Champion

Ponferrada - It is six years now since in Terezin he won for the second time the Junior Peace Race. Now he became the mens elite World Champion. The 24-year old polish rider Michal Kwiatkowski fantastically managed to impose himself on the biggest rainbow jersey adepts and claimed the first World Champion gold medal in cycling for his country.
"Just few days before the elite race I was on my way to manage few things with our riders Štybar and Vakoč when Michal and I met. You can hardly imagine how satisfying is to hear from him that he considers our Junior Peace Race the best event for the juniors in the world. Opinions from riders like him really count and these are the factors that keep us going and further improving the race. Well, and few days later 'Kwiatek' became a World Champion," pointed out the director of the Junior Peace Race Svatopluk Henke.

Klaris from Denmark won the 43rd Junior Peace Race

Terezín – A drama up to the finish. This years 43rd edition of the Junior Peace Race offered a very intense and close racing featuring the world best riders in this category, but only one of them could win - Magnus Klaris, who claimed a fourth win for Denmark in a raw, and with this Denmark ties Czechoslovakia which reached this mark in 1989.

Eriksson and Klaris ensured dramatic end for the Junior peace Race

Teplice/Zinnwald – The riders from the northern counties ensured there will be dramatic end of the Junior Peace Race. In the last but one stage dubbed "Queen Stage" from Teplice to Zinnwald won Eriksson from Sweden, who brought on his wheel across the finish line the second Magnus Klaris from Denmark. The twist is that the overall time in the GC of Klaris is now identical to the time of Rayane Bouhanni from France.

The Roudnice stage was won by Blikra from Norway

Roudnice nad Labem – There were two challenges for the peloton to face in the Junior Peace Race on Friday. After the time trial before noon there was a stage scheduled in Roudnice nad Labem for the afternoon. In this stage the peloton again arrived together and everything was decided by a mass sprint at the end, in which the Norwegian Erledn Blikra outran everyone.

Gibson from Great Britain beats the world champion in the Time Trial

Třebenice – British Matthew Gibson won the time Trial of the Junior Peace Race. He left behind him even the current wold champion in the discipline Decraene form Belgium, who finished third. On the schedule there is still the road race stage with start and finish in Roudnice nad Labem for the afternoon, in which Gibson will be in yellow.

Begnoni from Italy wins the opening stage

Litoměřice – The Italian Gianmarco Begnoni won the first stage if the Junior Peace Race. The best among the Czech riders on the Mírové square in Litomerice was Adam Ťoupalík on the 19th place. The peloton arrived in one piece and the final sprint decided about the winner.

140 riders will start the Junior Peace Race today

Confirmed, all settled, all is ready! The next edition of the international multistage cycling race, the Course de la Paix Juniors / Junior Peace Race is starting now. There are 140 cyclists from 24 countries competing for the yellow jersey of the 43rd edition.

The Couse de la Paix Juniors will start on the 8th of May

Terezín – Exactly one week is left before the start of the international cycling race, the Couse de la Paix Juniors (8. - 11. 5.). The best among the wold junior racers will compete in northern Bohemia in the 43rd edition of the race for one of the currently most prestigious yellow jerseys in the world for this age category. There is almost four hundred kilometers awaiting the racers and precious points for the Nations Cup at the end.
