Magagnotti wins the brisk afternoon stage from Roudnice to Terezín

A flat but fast 58.1 km stage from Roudnice nad Labem to Terezín delivered a thrilling bunch sprint, won by Italian sprinter Alessio Magagnotti. The stage was all about saving energy after the morning’s time trial – and spending it wisely in the final meters.

With mild temperatures around 16°C, no rain, and light winds, 138 riders rolled out from Roudnice ready for action. The peloton maintained a furious pace averaging over 51 km/h, with no major attacks early on.

One of the first incidents came when Hernandez (FRA) had to abandon due to mechanical issues. Most riders still felt the fatigue from the time trial, and significant attacks didn’t come until the second half.

Breakaway attempts from Thor Michielsen (BEL) and Wilmer Kleibrant (SWE), later joined by Lønseth Orholm (NOR), were all neutralized. The pace increased before the intermediate sprint in Doksany (km 49.8), won by Schoonvelde ahead of Mouris and Benz (GER).

The final sprint on Terezín’s Čs. armády square saw Magagnotti (ITA) take a clean win, with Filip-André Smørås (NOR) second and Noah Andersen (DEN) third. Czech rider Daniel Kuběna (RKC) finished 8th in the same time.

As the race heads into today's queen stage in the Ore Mountains, the overall classification remains wide open.
