Start of the Opening Stage
The first stage of this year's Junior Peace Race will traditionally start in Litoměřice, but there is an important change this year. While in previous years, the peloton began from the square in Litoměřice, this year the riders will depart from the Zahrada Čech complex. This change will offer an attractive and unique experience, which comes as a result of planned construction works in the city center.
The official opening ceremony will begin at 1:30 PM, where all the teams and their riders will be introduced. The host will introduce the participants to the audience, offering a unique opportunity to get to know the main contenders of the race before the start itself. The peloton will start the first stage at 2:40 PM. The team presentations will provide a great introduction to the race day, and spectators can look forward to the atmosphere of an international sporting event.
Race Route and Overview
For those who do not plan to attend the start in Litoměřice but are close to the route, we offer several attractive options for watching the race. After the start in Litoměřice, the riders will pass through Trnovany and continue through Býčkovice towards Lovečkovice. Residents of Dolní and Horní Týnec will have a unique opportunity to see the riders as they climb towards the first mountain sprint, located just before Lovečkovice, with the riders expected to reach this point around 20 minutes after the start. The next mountain sprint will take place between Náčkovice and Mukařov. Both of the first mountain sprints will come in quick succession, just ten minutes apart.
After these sprints, the cyclists will continue through Levínské Petrovice and Starý Týn towards Úštěk. The first contact with the finish city will come around the 30th kilometer of the first stage, out of the total 110 km, and at the same time, the very exciting part of the race will begin – three laps around Úštěk.
Laps Around Úštěk
Around Úštěk, the riders will complete three laps, which will include both mountain sprints at Ostrá and sprint sprints in Velký Hubenov. The riders will start the first lap around 3:30 PM, and each lap is expected to take around 35-40 minutes. These laps present a very interesting part of the stage. For all spectators in Úštěk and the surrounding area, this is an ideal opportunity to watch the peloton pass by three times.
The race will pass through the villages of Ostrá, Rašovice, Kalovice, Robeč, Sukorady, Velký Hubenov, Julčín, Vědlice, Rochov, and Tetčiněvs. Each of these locations will have the opportunity to become an attractive spot for spectators who want to watch young cycling talents from all over the world in action and support them in their pursuit of the best results.
Finish of the First Stage
The finish line of the first stage will be in Úštěk, in the town square, where the riders are expected to arrive between 5:15 PM and 5:45 PM. Throughout the entire stage, a large-screen display will be available in the finish area, allowing spectators to watch the full race development from start to finish. Úštěk will thus offer not only an exciting sporting climax but also comfortable facilities for all spectators who want to be with us from start to finish and take the opportunity to see the future stars of the world peloton.
The Junior Peace Race offers a unique opportunity not only for cycling fans but for all spectators – including children and young enthusiasts, for whom watching the race can be a truly memorable experience. Come and support the future stars of the world peloton – whether at the start, the finish, or along the route. The riders will certainly repay your support with maximum effort and performances that you will remember for a long time.
We look forward to seeing you and celebrating cycling together!
