Teplice/Olbernhau – The overall leader of the race shows good form. The member of the Norwegian team won the queen stage in Olbernhau. But the race is far from being decided. Second in the close finish was the German rider Emil Herzog who is also second in the GC.
"It was a very hard stage today, but we were focused on winning it. I am very happy that we managed to do just that. Unfortunately, it was not a decisive win and tomorrow anything can happen. But today we were the best." said the stage winnerPer Strand Hagenes .
The third stage started in Teplice and the finish was in the German town of Olbernhau. There were not only two GPMs on the way, in Cínovec and Seiffen, but the weather was another challenge, cold and rainy stage all the way. "I think everybody was suffering today, difficult stage and the rain" adds Hagenes. A group of twelve came together to the finish, all the main GC contenders were there, behind Hagenes and Herzog, finished as third Vlad van Mechelen from Belgium.
The third stage did not create large time gaps, and the leader and second in GC are separated by just 9 seconds. There are another 2 riders within half a minute, Cian Uijtdebroeks and Romain Grégorie.
The last stage of the 49th edition Will start and finish in Terezin. There are about 100km scheduled, with 4 GPMs in the hills above Litoměřice.
